Photography
how do you take good pictures really ?
well if you're interested in photography and you're new, maybe this might help
to take good pictures, there's really 3 things
its either creativity, or theory and practice or just plain rich.
creativity works well with the point and shoot technique (meaning with an auto setting of a digital camera)
most photographers started out as being creative, taking pictures using their digital camera and such(sometimes vain pics of themselves XD)
but yeah, in time he/she will find that the digital camera is crap and u cant do nothin much with it.
and so, we move on to dslr's, but that's where theory and practice comes
even with a canon d40, u cant expect to get a great picture without theory and practice.
in order to be a 'photographer', u rilli hv to noe your camera. settings and such,
what is aperture, what is ISO, what shutter speed is about.
and then there's those just being rich.
being rich, your opportunity to get a great picture is soo much higher
with a really expensive lense and a speedlight, u can basically take any picture and it'll turn out great. (unless u dont noe how to operate a speedlight haha)
but yeah, photography is a quite expensive hobby but its all worth it.
photography is like math, in which both i reaallly love.
if you're creative, you can solve any equation, but without theory and practice, you'll get nowhere.
i'm a newbie myself. i dont even have a dslr. but give me one and i'll be like a child in a playground. haha. all i noe is aperture, iso and shutter speed, what they do and such. talk about speedlights andi'll go 'wait wut ?' haha
Think
teenagers these days dont really care about religion nemore (na'uzubillah for that)
they may pray five times a day but after that its back to normal.
they say astaghfirullah and they dont even noe wut it means. (it means i pray for forgiveness from Allah)
you noe its wrong, and yet you compromise with it. what the heck is that all about ?
i mean, sure everybody makes mistakes here and there. even the most living religious guy does.
but that doesnt mean we HAVE to make mistakes everyday.
take a minute or two and think about it. are we the muslim we're suppose to be ?
islam has a simplified version and by that i mean just try to follow the musts.
if its so hard to follow things that are fardu ain such as praying 5 times a day, how are we gna follow the other stuffs, sunat and all that.
are we even reading the quran regularly. no, better still, can we even read the quran ? alif ba ta would be easy but try reading a page a day, some of us would be stuck for half an hour a page.
well yeah, its the fundamentals of islam, reading the quran, and for advanced learners, trying to understand it.
oooh i have an easy one, just try to understand the words we actually recite during our prayers.
that's actually an achievement for us.
just try and stop, and take 5 minutes to think about it, just 5 minutes, think of the things we've done wrong so far. disrespecting our parents, lying to our friends, being too social with the opposite sex, hugging or such behaviour, not covering what we're supposed to cover, not performing subuh, hv not read the quran for nearly a year (agama text book doesnt count).
a little fun is ok, as long as it doesnt go against or compromise with our religion.
na'uzubillahiminzalim..
wooooaahhh
i never really realised how much of a drug it was. and yes, i'm no longer sleepy and i can study now. with a slight headache that is.
The Guy in The Picture
Meet hammock man.I noe i've been telling ppl how sad this pic really meant for me. but i never really justified the story behind this pic. as you may noe, i went to vietnam last week following a package tour.
Vietnam is a misconcepted communist country where the only thing communist about it is that you cant pick your own candidates, u can only vote for the ppl from the list of candidates the government has given. and everything else is just like malaysia. the sad thing about this country is that it has just gotten its independence from america in about 30+ years ago. in 1975. so its not really a well-established country and the poverty is super-high. poor those poor ppl. they cant really afford a car and a house, and they dont have washing mashines, they sell in markets and streetwalks. some could go to local university but when u go to a local vietnamese university, u can only work locally, coz its not an international degree or however it is. they dont have scholarships like in malaysia so only the rich can afford to study abroad. so that's basically it.
okay so about the picture. people like the 'hammock man' sell stuff to tourist. stuffs like hammocks, hand bags, and lacquerware. obviously, 'the hammock man' sells hammock.people like him waits in front of the hotel, and restaurants.
and so we were done having dinner at a restaurant and we got out of the four seasons restaurant along with our tour guide. there he is, standing in front of the stairs waiting for us to come out. my mom and i were really interested in buying a hammock for our orchard and so we bargained with him, 15 dollars for two, that's was the last thing he said to us when 2 policemen in green uniform came up to him with their hands armed with batons. the hammock man slowly fold his hammocks and walks slowly to his friend about 10 feet away. he gave a stare at the policemen for awhile. his eyes we're lit with dissapointment, and sadness. seeing the picture, u cud probly imagine how his fase was when the policemen came. he walked slowly, pretending that nothing happened. i could tell how sad he felt at that time. his only source of income, crushed by 2 guys. well yeah he cud get other customers next time but its only once in a blue moon that someone would buy a hammock from him. its been three days of bargaining with him and finally we decided to buy one. i can imagine how hard life must be in his shoes. knowing that he cant speak english but he still tried to communicate makes me go down to tears. you just dont noe how lucky you are to be born in malaysia with a great family. as they say, if you feel that your life is horrible, there's always someone in a much darker place than you. well its true.
Vietnam was an eye-opener for me.

Interesting Facts
1. Hot dogs
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition
advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you
can't
live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.
2. Processed meats and bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and
other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in
bacon also contributes to cancer
3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble. First, they are made with
white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high
temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can
possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer.
4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then
fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl
amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called
cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams .
5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose
labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts
of trans-fats.
BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS
1.No Breakfast
People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar
level. This leads to an insufficient supply of nutrients to the brain causing
brain degeneration.
2. Overeating
It causes hardening of the brain arteries, leading to a decrease in
mental power.
3. Smoking
It causes multiple brain shrinkage and may lead to Alzheimer disease.
4. High Sugar consumption
Too much sugar will interrupt the absorption of proteins and nutrients
causing malnutrition and may interfere with brain development.
5. Air Pollution
The brain is the largest oxygen consumer in our body. Inhaling
polluted air decreases the supply of oxygen to the brain, bringing about a
decrease in brain efficiency.
6. Sleep Deprivation
Sleep allows our brain to rest. Long term deprivation from sleep will
accelerate the death of brain cells.
7. Head covered while sleeping
Sleeping with the head covered increases the concentration of carbon dioxide and decrease concentration of oxygen that may lead to brain damaging effects.
8. Working your brain during illness
Working hard or studying with sickness may lead to a decrease in
effectiveness of the brain as well as damage the brain.
9. Lacking in stimulating thoughts
Thinking is the best way to train our brain, lacking in brain stimulation
thoughts may cause brain shrinkage.
10. Talking Rarely
Intellectual conversations will promote the efficiency of the brain
1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause.
2. Not urinating in the morning.
3. Too much eating..
4. Skipping breakfast.
5. Consuming too much medication.
6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring,
and artificial sweetener.
7.. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil. As much as possible reduce
cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like
olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired, except if the body
is very fit.
8. Consuming raw (overly done) foods also add to the burden of liver.
Veggies should be eaten raw or cooked 3-5 parts. Fried veggies should be
finished in one sitting, do not store.

Studying
this place really has exposed me to the different types of people with a variety of behaviours. most in which u dont see at school or on the net. its only here that i started seing egoistic people, the humblest of humans, the downright naive, the emo, the schizopherniac, the tough but soft, dumb but determined, snobs, the hardworking type, and the types that can memorize everything in one glance.
the way people stduy differs in every type of personality that exists in Taiping. some stays up till 5.45 in the morning, some reads 5 chapters for 3 hours and somehow memorized it all.some study day and night and finds himself sleeping out of exhaustion, some reads out loud just to make themselves understand better. and some would sleep as early as they could to wake up at 3 am in the morning.people like me :D.
Once in a while, it makes you feel pumped up to listen to other people's stories. how hard they've worked and how they fell, how determined they are but no one cares, and how much they want to be appreciated by the things that they have done.
im actually glad to be in Taiping, i really am. most of us here cant see the good side.most of us only care to oppose with everything.
so for those future form 4's reading this blog, i'll tell you for sure, u'll hate being here but in time, u'll get what i meant in this blog.
2/11
again, as usual, my class would be a marketplace every night but it wasnt today. as i stepped one foot inside the class, the whole class stared at me, i sat down at my place with Mia staring blankly at me and everyone else back to their chapter nine or ten. so i took out my sejarah text, revision, and 2 topical exercise books and put it on my desk. i stared at the whole class again. wondering. well, i was really trying to remember a word from '100 words to make you sound smart' that fazlin bought me last year. but all that came out were 'weird', 'strange', 'awkward'. those didnt sound smart at all. so i took a mcmillian and found 'inordinary'.woohoo!! cant imagine how hard it was to find a word to describe tonight. hahaha. well i started this post 15 minutes atgo and i can remember hearing myself telling me that it was only going to be a 15 min post and then i'll go study.
well the reason for all this awkwardness thats happening tonite is simple really. we're having a sejarah exam tomorrow with chapters 6,7,8,9,10. and i've only covered 6,8 and half of 9.
which makes it 4.5. haha.
well, time is money, gotta get back to work. chellos people ! 12 days more !
2nd november 2008
ps : who says i cant post any entries just because im in mrsm ? :p
